SHAFTS
Make sure your shaft is compatible with your hubs and wheels. Shaft diameter is the ciritcal dimension. See our comparison table below for shaft sizes.
Screws
Many brushless motors use the M2 x 0.40 screws for mounting, but a few use M3 screws. Great for more guts to avoid sctripping screws, not-so-great for your mounting plates– the change in diameter of the screw means the plates will not quite line up.
Mounting
Mounting your motor is important and not all mounts are compatible. Even when the holes are in the same position, larger screws can cause standard mounts to be slightly off and require a little modification.
Brands
While we currently offer brushless drive motors from Fingertech and Repeat (Just ‘Cuz to be added soon!), note that we also have a very large variety of brushless weapon motors (without gearboxes).
NOTE: Fingertech has been out of the Megasparks for some time and we are unable to offer an ETA for when they will be restocked.
Build Tools and Supplies
You’ll need to solder your motors. One of the first things serious bot builders rely on is professional-grade soldering equipment.
We have the best, proven over many years in an electronics factory. We have stations and kits.
