SIZE AND CLASS?

One Key Decision is the Size of the Bot:

  • Fairyweights: Weigh 150g, are less destructive, but have fewer events.
  • Antweights: The most ubiquitous class with the most events. Great for a first bot.
  • Beetles: Offer higher crowd-pleasing factor with their destructive power. They are more expensive to build and repair but have nearly as many events as antweights.

Safety First!

Even small combat bots can be very destructive and can pack the kinetic energy of a bullet.  If you’re just getting started, start with a beginner bot and wait to weaponize.  Always use a test box with a bot rated “destructive”.  Click to learn more

WEAPONS

To Weaponize or Not to Weaponize?

For new builders, we recommend weaponizing later—learning to drive is the most critical initial skill.

Deciding on a destructive vs. non-destructive bot can seem a big decision.  luckily, Vipers are modular, and weapons can be added later.

Weapons fall into three main categories:

  • Horizontal Spinners
  • Vertical Spinners
  • Lifters
