COVID Considerations:

Extensive safety measures are in place! There’s never been a better time to attend a combat robot event at the Science Museum of Oklahoma/Tinkerfest! With almost 9 acres of social distancing space, gallons of hand sanitizer and staff that take your family’s health as seriously as their own, they’re ready to help you escape into a world of robotics. See this link to see what they’ve done to make sure you can leave your worries at the door!

  • If you have a Fairy (150 gram) you are more than welcome to bring it for grudge matches.

CROK at Tinkerfest Schedule:

  • 7:00am – Competitors can start arriving.
  • 7:30am – Safety Checks begin.
  • 8:30am – Cutoff for competitors to arrive.
  • 9:00am – Tinkerfest opens.
  • 9:00am – Fights begin
  • 4:00pm – Fights end
  • 6:00pm- Museum closes

Competitors can begin arriving at 7:00 AM. Safety will begin as soon as the arena is ready (around 7:30 AM). We want matches to start at 9:00 AM to coincide with the opening of Tinkerfest to the public. Please be on-site by 8:30 AM so that we can get all of the robots through safety checks before the museum opens up. The Museum closes at 6:00 PM on Saturday, so we must be done with the tournament brackets before that time. The robot combat is scheduled to end at 4:00, leaving time to enjoy Tinkerfest!

Rules:

  • Robots must meet the SPARC Robot Construction Specifications.
  • No fire weapons or ICE (Internal Combustion Engines).

Safety:

All bots will be required to pass a safety check verifying the following:

  1. Robots must meet the SPARC Robot Construction Specifications.
  2. Weapon locks and sharp edge covers must be used while the bot is outside of the arena.
  3. A LiPo charging bag must be used when charging your batteries.

Arena and Hazards:

The arena is 8 ft x 8 ft x 2 ft tall with a wooden floor. There is a seam in the middle of the floor, but we do our best to minimize it.

Pits:

Tables and chairs are provided by the venue. Bathrooms are onsite. Electrical outlets may be limited, so it is recommended to bring your own power strips and extension cords.

Tournament Style:

Dependent on number of entrants. Robots registered in tournament will be guaranteed at least two fights.

Registered robots have priority over waitlisted robots on the event day. There is no guarantee that a waitlisted robot will be able to fight in the tournament on the day of the event.

Once the tournaments are over, or during any dead time, we will hold grudge matches and rumbles for those that are interested.

Spectating:

Tinkerfest is free to enter and spectate everything going on, including the robot fights. Admission is FREE but capacity is limited. All attendees must receive a wristband before gaining admission or participating in activities. Registration is not available in advance.

Want to get started and compete, but not sure how to get started? Try an Antweight kit!
