The Baby Nautiloid Combat Robot is a fully assembled antweight combat robot built around a spinning disc weapon — not a build-it-yourself chassis. This Radio Ready kit is sold as a complete kit, weighing in right at the antweight class limit of 1lb (16oz) with its battery installed. These bots are incredibly hard to get, so don’t wait! Built By a Combat Robotics Veteran
RAD Robotics’ Matt Tompkins, a lead engineer who has built combat robots since 2009, designed Baby Nautiloid. In his own words: “Its nimble drivetrain and powerful disc make it easily the most fun robot to compete with that I’ve ever designed.” The results back him up — Baby Nautiloid has won a remarkable number of the events it’s entered since 2017.

Baby Nautiloid ships with its battery already included, so the only things standing between you and the arena are a compatible transmitter and receiver — and the receiver needs to fit inside the bot. You’ll also want a battery charger to keep the included LiPoly pack topped off.

Because it ships fully assembled, Baby Nautiloid can work as a first robot — but only if you have a genuinely safe place to test and practice, like a proper test box or a secured arena. This isn’t a toy. Baby Nautiloid’s spinning weapon carries as much kinetic energy as a small-caliber bullet, and it sounds every bit as serious as it is the moment it spins up. Without safe testing space lined up, we’d point you toward a lighter class first. If you are truly prepared, Baby Nautiloid is loads of fun, but always treat this bot with respect — it can cut through 1/2in UHMW in a heartbeat.

You must pay close attention to safety if this is your first bot. Its destructiveness is surprising. If you don’t have a test space lined up, we’d point you toward a less advanced bot first. This isn’t a toy: the spinning weapon carries as much kinetic energy as a small-caliber bullet, and it sounds every bit as serious the moment it spins up.
