The Baby Nautiloid Combat Robot is a fully assembled antweight combat robot built around a spinning disc weapon — not a build-it-yourself chassis. This Radio Ready kit is sold as a complete kit, minus the battery, weighing 13.96oz (395.6g) as shipped — well under the antweight class limit of 1lb (16oz), leaving you room for your battery, transmitter, and receiver. Built By a Combat Robotics Veteran
RAD Robotics’ Matt Tompkins, a lead engineer who has built combat robots since 2009, designed Baby Nautiloid. In his own words: “Its nimble drivetrain and powerful disc make it easily the most fun robot to compete with that I’ve ever designed.” The results back him up — Baby Nautiloid has won a remarkable number of the events it’s entered since 2017.

This kit does not include a battery, so you’ll need three things: a compatible transmitter, a receiver, and a battery. Baby Nautiloid runs on a 4S battery, and its space-efficient design means only the long-format pack fits: the Gens Ace Tattu 450mAh 4S LiPoly Pack (long size) — a shorter, wider 4S pack will not fit this chassis. Even with the right battery, expect a snug fit; it takes a bit of a trick to seat it correctly. You’ll also want a battery charger to keep it topped off. This isn’t a toy. Baby Nautiloid’s spinning weapon carries as much kinetic energy as a small-caliber bullet, and it sounds every bit as serious as it is the moment it spins up. Without safe testing space lined up, we’d point you toward a lighter class first.
