Yes — the EMAX RS2205S 2600KV is the exact motor that designer Matt Tompkins spec’d for Baby Nautiloid. It uses a 4× M3 mounting pattern on a 16×19mm bolt circle and an M5 shaft, so it bolts straight in with no modifications. Just make sure you’re installing the CCW version — that’s what we carry and what Baby Nautiloid uses.
Why is a free ESC included, and can I use it in my Baby Nautiloid?
The EMAX RS2205S was originally sold as part of a motor+ESC combo pack, so we’re including the EMAX DShot Bullet 30A ESC as a free bonus while our supply lasts. That said, Baby Nautiloid was designed around the Flycolor 30A ESC because it includes a BEC — the EMAX Bullet 30A does not have a BEC, so it’s not a direct swap for your bot’s ESC. Think of it as a great pit bag spare or a starting point for your next build.
My motor took a hit — what else should I check before I replace it?
A hard impact that damages a motor can stress other parts of the weapon system too. Before you get back in the arena, it’s worth inspecting your weapon shaft assembly for bending or scoring, checking your weapon disc for cracks or deformation, and looking over your weapon hub and center frames for damage. Catching secondary damage in the pit is a lot better than finding out in the arena.
