Is the Blitz Lite the drive motor in the SSP Pro?

Yes. The Blitz Lite 2850KV is the drive motor in the SSP 2.0 Pro Brushless Beetleweight Combat Robot Kit. If you’re building an SSP Pro or sourcing replacement drive motors for one, this is the correct motor. Two per build, one per drive side.

Will this fit my existing motor mounts?

Not necessarily. The Blitz Lite uses a non-standard 3× M3 mounting pattern on a 15mm bolt circle. Most beetleweight motor mounts are designed around a 4-hole pattern — those mounts are not compatible with the Blitz Lite without modification or replacement. How do I configure my ESC for the Blitz Lite 2850KV?

AM32-based ESCs are a strong option for the Blitz Lite. Use firmware V2.18 or later and enable PWM by RPM — this significantly improves drive consistency and eliminates desync at low speed. Can I swap my brushed DartBox motors for Blitz Lites?

Possibly, but it depends on your chassis and motor mount design. If your build uses face-plate based motor mounting, the Blitz Lite’s smaller 20mm footprint may fit — but the 3× M3 15mm bolt circle is non-standard, so new motor plates will likely be needed. Note that the Blitz Lite requires brushless ESCs — brushed ESCs are not compatible. If you have a V1 SSP kit with machined slots for the square DartBox gearbox, the Blitz Lite will not fit without chassis modifications. You’ll also need to update your motor direction and control configuration through your radio transmitter.

Why a 1604 motor — isn’t that too small?

It’s a fair question — and the short answer is that brushless motor technology has advanced significantly. Larger stator motors like 1806 or 2006 are mechanically overkill for a beetleweight drive application when paired with the right gear reduction.
