D2826EVO Brushless 1450KV Combat Robotics Weapon Motor

If you want the most aggressive motor in the D2826 family, the D2826EVO 1450KV is it. The Flashhobby D2826EVO Brushless 1450KV combat robotics motor shares the same 16×19mm mounting pattern as the standard D2826 — so it drops into the same chassis — but brings a redesigned 12N14P stator, 4S capability, and 367W of weapon power to the fight.

Why the D2826EVO 1450KV?

At 3S the EVO 1450KV already outperforms the standard D2826 — push it to 4S and it’s in a different class entirely. Max power hits 367W, max thrust reaches 1256g, and max current runs to 30.97A. Flashhobby’s in-house EVO redesign — tighter 12N14P stator configuration, 3.0mm shaft, and a robust 55.7g can — is built for builders who need maximum weapon energy. Check your design carefully for 4S ESC and battery compatibility before upgrading.

What’s in the Box

The D2826EVO ships with common mounting hardware. You’ll get the motor, four M3×5 mounting screws, a cross mount, and an adapter. Additional mounting options include the Fingertech blade mount for a direct weapon connection, the Fingertech angled motor mount for ease in mounting the motor to the chassis, and Fingertech pulleys and belts for a belt-drive connection to the motor. Note that the EVO’s 3.0mm shaft differs from the standard D2826’s 3.17mm shaft — verify shaft compatibility with your hardware before ordering.

ESCs

The D2826EVO 1450KV draws significantly more current than the standard D2826 — 30.97A max — so ESC sizing matters. A 40A ESC is the minimum; a 50A or 70A ESC is the safer choice, particularly at 4S. Good options include the Flashhobby Aria 40A BLHeli, the Flycolor Francy 2 50A BLHeli for additional headroom, or the E-Power Aria 70A AM32 if you’re running 4S hard. Each robot is different — make sure you match your ESC to the requirements of your design.

Specs at a Glance

Shaft is 3.0mm diameter × 41mm length with a standard 16×19mm mounting pattern (M3×4 thread). Max current is 30.97A, internal resistance 0.078Ω. Stator configuration 12N14P, stator diameter 22mm × 8mm height. Operating temperature range 0°C–80°C. It’s a tough, no-excuses motor built for the arena.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the D2826EVO 1450KV a drop-in replacement for the standard D2826 or D2822?

Mostly — but with two important caveats. The mounting pattern is identical (16×19mm, M3×4), so it drops into the same chassis. However the EVO uses a 3.0mm shaft vs the standard D2826’s 3.17mm shaft, so blade mounts, hubs, and any shaft-dependent hardware need to match the 3.0mm spec. The EVO is also 5.7g heavier than the standard D2826 — check your weight budget carefully. For D2822 builders, the same mounting pattern applies but the EVO is 4mm longer and significantly heavier than a D2822, so check clearances carefully.

What’s the real difference between the D2826EVO 1000KV and the D2826EVO 1450KV?

KV is the motor’s RPM per volt — so at 11.1V (3S), a 1000KV motor spins at roughly 11,100 RPM unloaded, while a 1450KV motor spins at roughly 16,095 RPM. Higher KV means more speed but less torque; lower KV means more torque but less speed. The 1450KV also has significantly higher max current (30.97A vs 18.43A) and max power (367W vs 292W), making it the most aggressive option in the D2826 family. That said, the higher current draw means ESC sizing is critical — a 40A minimum, with 50A–70A strongly preferred at 4S. Each robot is different — make sure you match your motor selection to the requirements of your design.

What ESC do I need for the D2826EVO 1450KV?

With 30.97A max current at 3S and potentially higher at 4S, ESC sizing is more critical here than on any other D2826 variant. A 40A ESC is the absolute minimum; a 50A or 70A ESC gives you the headroom you need, especially at 4S. Options include the Flashhobby Aria 40A BLHeli, the Flycolor Francy 2 50A BLHeli, or the E-Power Aria 70A AM32 for maximum headroom. Each robot is different — make sure you match your ESC to the requirements of your design.

Can I use the D2826EVO 1450KV as a drive motor?

The D2826EVO is a brushless outrunner — it’s a high-speed, low-torque motor well suited for weapon systems but not for drive. Combat robot drive motors need high torque at low speeds and typically use brushed gearmotors like the Repeat Brushed, which are purpose-built for combat robotics. The D2826EVO would be a poor drive motor choice in virtually any combat robot configuration.

What’s the difference between brushed and brushless motors — and why three wires?

Brushed motors use physical carbon brushes to transfer current to the rotating part of the motor, which creates friction and wear over time. Brushless motors eliminate the brushes entirely, using electronic commutation instead — that’s why they need three wires rather than two. Each wire carries current to one of three motor phases, and the ESC sequences them electronically to create rotation. The result is a more efficient, longer-lasting motor with higher power output — which is why brushless motors dominate combat robotics weapon systems. Brushless motors require a brushless-compatible ESC, which is slightly more complex and expensive than a brushed controller.
