The new AR500 2mm Wedge for your Just Cuz Robotics SSP Kit or your own design!
A wedge is one critical element of the set of laser cut AR500 steel components for the SSP Kit. The SSP Kit AR500 mechanicals includes the front forks, barbed forks, claw forks, and the wedge (here).
The wedge may have slight surface rust or scale- this is normal and does not affect the integrity of the parts! This surface can be wire wheeled or sanded, and then cleaned with isopropyl alcohol to paint. Just ‘Cuz recommends Rust-Oleum spray paint & primer to prevent rust over time.
Other surface treatments will also work if you prefer the “bare metal’ look of the forks, such as various kinds of oil (gun oil, camellia oil, boiled linseed oil, etc.), WD-40 rust inhibitor, bluing/blacking treatments, and more. You can find many different kinds of protectant/preservatives on the web.
