Clean, Reliable Wiring Without the Soldering Iron
FingerTech 4 position mini terminal blocks are the easiest way to make secure, repeatable wiring connections in your combat robot — no soldering required. Whether you’re building your first bot or rewiring after a hard match, these push-wire blocks let you connect, disconnect, and reconnect wires in seconds. They’re a proven wiring solution used in FingerTech Viper Kits and trusted by builders worldwide.
Each pair includes one red and one black block — positive and negative clearly separated so polarity mistakes are easy to avoid. Each block accepts up to four 18–24 gauge solid or stranded wires. If you need more connection points, the 6 position version is now standard in all Viper Kits and gives you two extra positions per block for upgrades and additional components.
The blocks are small and light — only 0.7g each — so they add almost nothing to your bot’s weight or footprint. Rated for 6A continuous and up to 30A burst, they handle the current demands of antweight and beetleweight drivetrains without issue.
These blocks are also used in conjunction with the FingerTech Switch and Charge Jack. NOTE: The Viper kit ships with the red and black wires already inserted into the Terminal Blocks — making your initial wiring even faster.
Installation
- Strip insulation back 4–5mm (0.15–0.2in).
- Twist stranded wires before insertion. Tinning with solder is recommended.
- Push the wire into one of the four positions until it reaches the stop.
- If the wire is too big to fit, it can be trimmed with a sharp set of cutters.
- To release a wire, push a thin flat tool — an X-Acto blade works well — into the slot above the wire to free it (see image).
Features
- No soldering required: Push-wire design connects and disconnects in seconds
- 4 position mini terminal blocks: Clean, reliable connection point for up to four wires per block

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to solder these?
No — that's the whole point. Just strip 4–5mm (0.15–0.2in) of insulation, twist stranded wire ends, and push the wire in until it stops. No soldering iron, no heat shrink, no mess. Tinning the wire with solder first is recommended though — it makes a noticeably more secure connection and prevents loose strands from buckling on insertion.
My wire won't stay in — what am I doing wrong?
This is almost always a tinning issue. Loose stranded wire can buckle or only partially engage the retainer tab, causing it to pull out easily. Tin the wire end with solder first — it stiffens the strands into a solid tip that seats cleanly and holds firmly. After inserting, always tug gently on the wire to confirm it's fully engaged before closing up your bot.
What's the difference between the 4 and 6 position versions?
The 6 position version gives you two extra connection points per block. For a basic Viper build the 4 position version works fine, but the 6 position is now standard in all Viper Kits — the extra positions are useful for weapon ESCs, LEDs, or any additional components you add as you upgrade your bot.
Can I reuse them after removing wires?
Yes. Push a thin flat tool — an X-Acto blade works well — into the slot above the wire to release it. The retainer tab resets and the position is ready for a new wire. These are designed to be connected and disconnected repeatedly.
What wire gauge does the Viper kit use — will my wires fit?
The Viper kit uses 24 gauge wire, which fits easily. These blocks accept 18–24 gauge solid or stranded wire up to 1mm diameter. If you have slightly larger wire, you can trim away a few strands to make it fit — a common technique for combat robotics wiring.
Can I use these outside of a Viper build?
Absolutely. These are general-purpose push-wire terminal blocks suitable for any application where you need a clean, solderless connection point for multiple wires. They're popular in antweight and beetleweight builds of all kinds, and work equally well in non-combat electronics projects.
How do I install wires in the blocks?
- Strip insulation back 4–5mm (0.15–0.2in).
- Twist stranded wires before insertion. Tinning with solder is recommended.
- Push the wire into one of the four positions until it reaches the stop.
- If the wire is too big to fit, it can be trimmed with a sharp set of cutters.
- To release a wire, push a thin flat tool — an X-Acto blade works well — into the slot above the wire to free it (see image).
