Repeat Robotics Dual ESC

The Repeat Robotics Dual Brushed ESC has been developed to provide an affordable and robust dual drive ESC option. This ESC was configured for Repeat Drive Brushed motors, but it’s a great answer for any other antweight-size drive motor, at a price that’s attractive.

Repeat Robotics Dual Brushed ESC is the result of an extensive search across multiple sources to select a high quality, moderately-priced ESC that could meet the performance specs. The result is the Repeat Robotics Dual ESC (DESC). This ESC is a Payne DESC, customized and configured for an optimal driving experience. It includes onboard mixing, center braking, and pre-soldered connectors for signal and power.

Antweights are the most common competitive combat bot. As new builders start in the sport, Antweights are becoming even more prevalent, better engineered, and more destructive. A lightweight dual ESC for the right price helps new and experienced builders succeed in the sport.

WARNING:

Repeat Drive Brushed motors operated at 4S CANNOT be stalled for an extended period! The motor will overheat, smoke, and be permanently damaged. These ESCs do not have active current limiting, so if the motor is stalled until it fails, the FET driving that motor will also fail, permanently damaging the ESC. If this occurs, you’ll need to replace both the motor and the ESC.

Testing showed that the ESC and motor can be damaged when stalling for as little as 7 seconds on 4S and 25 seconds on 3S. In every test case, the motor stopped working and smoked before the ESC failed.
