Saifu 3 Antweight Combat Robot Wire Harness

Saifu Combat Robot Wire Harness (Plug and Play, XT30) — for Saifu 2 & 3, or any bot with similar current rating

The Kitbots’ Saifu combat robot wire harness connects your battery to the drive ESC(s) and weapon ESC via tidy XT30 connectors and an inline FingerTech Mini Power Switch. Pre-terminated 16AWG main and 18AWG branch leads mean no soldering, less guesswork, and faster turnarounds. Heat-shrink strain relief helps prevent shorts and snags. Purpose-built for Saifu 2/3, it also simplifies wiring on other antweight bots with similar current needs: plug in, mount the switch, and fight.

Saifu Combat Robot Wire Harness (Plug and Play, XT30) — for Saifu 2 & Saifu 3, and other bots with similar needs.

The pre-wired Saifu Combat Robot Wire Harness for Kitbots’ Saifu antweight (1 lb) Kit. One XT30 input from the battery, two XT30 outputs for the drive ESC and the brushless weapon ESC, plus a FingerTech mini power switch. Plug it in, mount the switch, and go fight—no soldering, no guesswork. Built to match our Saifu plug-and-play electronics bundle.

What it is / Who it’s for

A clean, reliable power distribution harness designed for Saifu 2 and Saifu 3, but usable for any bot. Mates with our modified Repeat Robotics dual brushed ESC (drive) and a brushless weapon ESC—both on XT30. Ideal when you want tournament-ready wiring with minimal bench time.

What’s included / What you’ll need

Included: pre-soldered harness with 1× XT30 battery input, 2× XT30 outputs, a FingerTech mini power switch, and associated wiring. You’ll need: a LiPo with XT30, a brushed drive ESC(s) and a brushless weapon ESC with XT30 connectors, plus hardware to mount the switch.  See our FT switch mounting kit here.

Features
  • Plug-and-play for Saifu 2 & 3 or similar— no soldering required.  Quick connect/disconnect.
  • XT30 input/output keeps footprint tight
  • Inline FingerTech mini power switch for required disconnects
  • Pre-terminated to match our modified Repeat dual ESC and brushless weapon ESC
  • Short leads reduce resistance, sag, and wiring snags
  • Heat-shrink strain relief and clean routing for fast service between fights
Maintenance/Spare Parts
Routine Checks
Before each match, confirm the switch screws and terminals are tight, XT30 housings are fully seated, and there’s no heat-shrink creep or wire chafe. Tug-test each connector gently. If a connector or switch shows discoloration or looseness, replace before the next fight.
Battery & Safety
Use a quality LiPo of the correct voltage for your ESCs and weapon system. Keep leads short, avoid pinching wires under armor, and never arm the bot outside a safe area. Charge packs in a LiPo bag and follow event arming rules. Treat the master switch as armed once a pack is connected.

FAQs
Which plug goes to the battery?
The single XT30 male is the battery input on the harness. The two XT30 female connectors go to the drive dual ESC and the weapon ESC. Verify polarity (+/–) before first power-up and never force connectors together.
What do XT30 male vs. female connectors look like?
XT30 Male connector

XT30 Male

XT30 Female connector

XT30 Female

Will this fit other antweight bots?
Yes—any antweight using XT30 power with similar current needs. Confirm lead lengths, space for the inline switch, and your ESC/power budget. For higher-current builds, consider heavier connectors or a custom harness.
What ESCs does this play well with?
It’s designed around our modified Repeat Robotics dual brushed ESC (drive) and a brushless weapon ESC (AM32 or similar), both on XT30. Match ESC ratings to your pack voltage and expected duty cycle.
How much current can it handle?
XT30 is commonly rated around 30A continuous per leg with higher burst capability. Actual safe current depends on wire gauge, ambient temperature, duty cycle, and connector condition. Size your wiring and ESCs accordingly.
What if my battery has the opposite XT30 gender?
This shouldn’t happen. Batteries and connectors are designed to avoid connection issues. If you find that the gender actually doesn't work,
  • Stop and check your wiring and your battery.
  • If you connectorized the battery yourself, you probably installed the wrong sex connector.
  • If it came from the factory that way, check it against our XT30 battery images. Batteries should be fitted with a FEMALE connector.
  • If it still won't fit and the battery is correct, make sure you are trying to plug in the correct connector to the battery. The MALE connector on the harness plugs into the FEMALE connector on the battery

What do you mean by "polarity"?
DC circuit wires are set up for positive (+) and negative (-). US recommended color codes for these are RED for positive (+) and BLACK for negative (-). These connectors are designed to ensure that the proper wire gets plugged into the proper wire. As such, they cannot be plugged in the wrong way without force. However, the proper polarity must be installed on the connector when it is being built. In this case, RED positive (+) goes on the FLAT side and BLACK negative (-) goes on the rounded side of the connector.  For convenience, XT30 plugs often have a "+" and "-" symbol molded into the connector housing itself.  See diagram here: XT30 drawing
What do I do if something looks or feels wrong?
If an XT30 won’t seat easily, feels hot, smells like melting plastic, or you see arcing/sparks: stop immediately, power down, and disconnect the battery. Inspect polarity (+/–) on every connector with a multimeter before reconnecting. Misalignment or reversed polarity can short a LiPo and cause a fire. Do not force connectors. take a step back and reexamine what you're doing.
How else can I be safe?
  • When building: do a quick polarity check. Wiring should be red to red and black to black.
  • Check the FingerTech mini power switch for tight terminals and no discoloration.
  • If you observe browning, softening plastic, or intermittent power, replace the switch or affected connector before the next match.
  • Keep leads short and clear of the weapon path; avoid pinching wires under armor.

Quick convenient checklist:
correct polarity on every XT30, clean/undamaged contacts, switch off before connecting the battery, beater free to spin by hand, brief low-throttle test in a proper test box.
