Saifu Wraparound UHMW Armor

The Saifu Wraparound UHMW Armor is the flexible outer UHMW strip that protects the wheels and chassis of a Saifu combat robot from hits. Sold individually as a flat 13in strip, it bends and shapes to the chassis during install, so exact pre-bend dimensions matter less than final fit.

$25.00

2 in stock (can be backordered)

The Saifu Wraparound UHMW Armor is the outer protective band that wraps around the Saifu chassis, shielding the wheels and side panels from direct hits during a match. Sold individually as a single flat strip.

It ships unshaped — a straight 13in UHMW strip that the builder bends to fit around the chassis during final assembly. UHMW is tough enough to handle over-bending without cracking or taking a permanent set, so exact pre-bend dimensions matter less than getting a snug final fit on the bot.

On the stock chassis it mounts with a mix of 4-40 and 6-32 pan head screws plus self-tapping fasteners along the sides and rear, with an optional rear nutstrip block that can be omitted for weight savings or extra interior space.

Because it takes the brunt of glancing hits and wheel-guard impacts, armor is one of the more commonly damaged parts on a Saifu build — keeping a spare on hand alongside your Saifu V3 Antweight Complete Combat Robot Kit is a reasonable call for anyone competing regularly.

This listing is for the armor strip only. Mounting screws and the optional rear nutstrip block are not included.

Features

  • Durable UHMW construction: absorbs hits and resists cracking
  • Ships flat, bends to fit: shapes to the chassis during install
  • Wraps wheels and side panels: primary impact protection for the chassis
  • Saifu wraparound armor is one of the most commonly damaged parts on the bot
  • Sold individually: restock exactly what a repair needs
  • Compatible with Saifu 2 and Saifu 3 chassis platforms

What is this Saifu maintenance part (Wraparound UHMW armor) used for?

This is a genuine replacement maintenance part intended to restore proper function after wear, damage, or routine service. Saifu robots are designed to be field-serviceable, and keeping spare maintenance parts on hand helps minimize downtime between matches or practice sessions.  Armor takes a lot of hits.  Have extra.

Is this part compatible with all Saifu versions?

This part is generally compatible for Saifu 2 and Saifu 3.  Compatibility depends on your specific Saifu variant and revision. Confirm your robot version and compare the product photos and title carefully before ordering. When in doubt, matching the removed part visually is the safest approach.  Some modification could be required.

Does this listing include hardware or tools?

This listing includes the part only, unless otherwise stated in the product title or images. Basic hand tools are typically required.

Is this a single part or a set?

This listing is for one (1) armor strip, sized to wrap the full chassis in a single piece.

Is this suitable for competition use?

Yes. These are intended as direct replacement parts to maintain your Saifu robot in competition-ready condition. Always verify that repairs comply with your event's current ruleset before competing.  Saifu armor can be used for other designs, but may require modification for your specific design.

Do you recommend keeping spare maintenance parts?

Absolutely. Combat robotics is hard on components, and keeping common maintenance parts in your pit kit can be the difference between making the next match or sitting out. Many builders treat wear items as consumables.  Nothing is worse than a bot that could win, but won't, because you didn't have a spare.
