Replacement Silver Spark Gearbox

The Silver Spark line of motors has a larger pitch gearhead, for less worrying about stripping teeth in your bigger or heavier applications! Now get replacement gearboxes from ItGresa Robotics for a quick reentry into the fight!

tells us, “I don’t really understand why these are not more popular. It’s much easier to replace a gearbox while you are down for repairs than it is to unsolder and resolder the entire motor. Every builder should have a stock of these!”

We tried it, and he’s right! Much easier to replace the gearbox only. You have to undo the screws no matter what, but the gearbox requires only two simple screws to replace.

• The gearbox has an xtra-long 3mm shaft for mounting wheels directly with the option to use a bearing block for support on the wheel’s far side.
• 11mm face mount pattern.

These Silver Spark gearboxes make it super simple to get a robot moving after a big hit!

When replacing the gearbox, we recommend ensuring that the motor vent hole does not line up with a gearbox pin.  If it does, simply rotate the gearbox 180 degrees and attach.  Use Loctite on the screws that hold the gearbox to the motor.  This will ensure they cannot separate during a competition!
