Some people strongly prefer to have a self-centering spring return on their throttle stick for their bot. Adding this type of control to your transmitter is a very straightforward modification. It does involve opening up the transmitter case, adding our spring-loaded arm inside the transmitter’s throttle mechanism with a bit of simple connection, and closing the case back up. Spring loaded centering is particularly preferred for tank driving your bot.
Instructions for changing a ratchet stick to spring-return on the T6A transmitter.
1. Open your transmitter and locate the ratchet arm.
2. Unscrew the ratchet arm.
You can screw it back on pointing downwards so it stays in the transmitter if you ever want to change it back.
3. Insert the new plastic transmitter spring return arm on the gimbal.
4. Attach the spring to the bottom hook, then pull it onto the plastic arm.
5. That’s it! You’re done. Replace the transmitter cover and screw back in place. Test your transmitter.
