Turnabot Turbo Torque Hubs 14mm
The Turnabot Turbo Torque Hubs 14mm are designed for smaller robots running 14mm wide tires. Think fairyweight or plastic ants. The usual wheel mounting mechanism can be a pain to swap- setscrews, snap rings, twist locks, etc. all can be difficult or tedious. Turnabot’s Turbo Torque Hubs use an easy-install collet-clamp mechanism — a small collet tightens around the motor shaft and locks the hub in place securely, using the Turnabot tool supplied with these hubs. All you have to do is loosen the collet, swap the tire, retighten. Done. Sold as a set of 3: a pair plus a spare so you’re covered at an event.
Collet-Clamp Design
The collet-clamp system is convenient for builders. As you know, tires take a lot of damage during a match. No need to stress about finding the right Allen wrench, getting the locking ring to snap in place, locating two or even three tools to get your wheels on- just slip the hub on, slip the tool on the hub, and tighten. Done! Even a middle-schooler can do it with ease. We know, we’ve tested! Each set includes a “pair and a spare”: 3 hubs, 3 collets, one spacer gauge, and 1 tightening tool — everything you need to mount your hubs. The spacer is a convenience to ensure your tires are offset from the chassis so your tires don’t rub.
Tire Compatibility
The 14mm hubs are compatible with two Turnabot tire options: the Turnabot 24mm Tires (offset-bar-tread) and the Turnabot 30.4mm High Grip Tires (Lego-style, high grip rubber). If you’re running the larger 37mm tires, you’ll need the Turnabot Turbo Torque Hubs 22mm instead.

How does the collet-clamp work?
The collet slides over the motor shaft and is tightened by the included tool. When locked, it grips the shaft firmly. To swap tires, loosen the collet, slide off the hub, swap the tire, and retighten. No press-fitting required.
