Turnabot Turbo Torque Hubs 22mm
The Turnabot Turbo Torque Hubs 22mm are designed for smaller robots running the larger 37mm wide tires. Think fairyweight or plastic ants with a bigger footprint. Same collet-clamp system as the 14mm hubs — after substantial research, testing, prototyping, and iterating, Turnabot built a hub that’s easy for anyone (including children) to install, clamps securely to the driveshaft, and is still removable and reusable when you want it. Loosen the collet, swap the tire, retighten. Done. Sold as a set of 3: a pair plus a spare so you’re covered at an event.
Collet-Clamp Design
Forget hunting for the right Allen wrench, wrestling with snap rings, or juggling three tools just to swap a wheel. Slip the hub on the shaft, slip the tool on the hub, tighten. That’s it. A typical middle-schooler can tighten it to the point that most people — and most opponent robots — can’t pull the wheel off without loosening the collet first. A typical adult can tighten it to the point where the mount will fail long before the wheel comes off. Turnabot proved it with a real 6kg weight hanging from the hub. The wheel survived. Each set includes 3 hubs, 3 collets, one spacer gauge, and 1 tightening tool. The spacer keeps your tires offset from the chassis so they don’t rub.
