BILL OF MATERIAL (BOM)
Sometimes its critical to understand all of the parts that go into your kit as designed. Below you can find the full BOM, including everything that goes into the kit, as well as necessities for assembly, operation, and a list of tools. Most of these are hyperlinked to the source.
STARTER NEEDS TO MAKE ANY COMBAT BOT RUN
If this isn’t your first combat bot, you probably don’t need to worry about this section.
Every bot team needs two things to make the bot run, a transmitter and a lipo charger. While it’s possible to run small combat bots on 9V batteries, in practice, everyone runs their bots on lithium polymer batteries, which require a specific charger. You can also use a transmitter for multiple bots, but you need at least one for your team. Most people have a receiver per bot as well.
- Radio Transmitter. The FS-i6 is a good choice for the receiver in the kit.
- LiPo Charger. We recommend our C6D charger, available in C6D – 60W and C6D – 100W. These chargers also comes with an XT30 adapter.
- Charger XT30 Adapter (Can solder yourself, or buy here)
NEEDED AND RECOMMENDED ASSEMBLY TOOLS
There are a number of tools that are either required, or will make your life easier. Links are included where we carry the tools.
- INCLUDED: 2mm hex L key/allen wrench
- INCLUDED: 3/32 hex wrench (T handle, as power switch key)
- INCLUDED: 4mm L key/allen wrench
- Torx Plus T10 bit/driver
- Torx Plus T15 bit/driver
- Needle nose pliers
- Wire cutters (We have them here).
- Wire strippers
- Hot Glue Gun (Recommended)
- Cordless drill/driver with clutch (Recommended)
- Soldering iron/solder. See our soldering kits here (basic) and here (ultimate).
NEEDED AND RECOMMENDED SUPPLIES
- Blue Loctite (242 or 243 is highly recommended)
- Heat Shrink tubing and Heat Gun or Lighter (Recommended). Heat shrink tubing available from Itgresa here, and here. You can get by with electrical tape but it isn’t as robust a solution. See our article on heatshrink.
